Rosemary Meece has found delight in playing music since the age of six, and her focus as a teacher is encouraging joy, independence, and community through music. Rosemary first studied clarinet performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with Ron Aufmann, receiving her Bachelor of Music degree in 2016. Her teaching career also began in Cincinnati where she taught private lessons and pioneered the first music theory tutoring program at UC’s Learning Center. After graduating with her Bachelor of Music, Rosemary received her Master of Music from Indiana University, where she studied clarinet performance with James Campbell and clarinet pedagogy with Howard Klug. In 2020, Rosemary moved to Tucson and studied clarinet performance with Dr. Jackie Glazier at the University of Arizona. During this time she taught clarinet lessons at the university, instructed music education students in clarinet methods, and maintained a private studio of up to forty clarinet and piano students.

An active performer, Rosemary has played with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, the Tucson Pops Orchestra, and the Tucson Repertory Orchestra. In 2021, Rosemary was a semifinalist in the Vienna International Music Competition and received an honorable mention in the Claraidoscope Collegiate Competition. A strong advocate for musical outreach, Rosemary has served as Artist-in-Residence at Christ the King Church in Tucson, volunteered at the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest, performed at local fundraising events in Tucson, and participated in the Oro Valley Kids’ Concert Series. She currently teaches clarinet at Liberty Junior School and offers clarinet and piano lessons at her private studio in Liberty Township.
